I'll admit I was stunned. I only saw the worst of the worst. I didn't follow any of the news or click on any links over the past months.
I tried to protect myself mentally from all of the negativity.
My vote was for Jed Bartlett (The West Wing) or even Frank Underwood (House of Cards) - that's about as real as US politics are for me.
So, even though I shed a tear when I told my son Noah, I'm not going to get swept up in the aftermath. It's business as usual here at Jacqui Miyabayashi Consulting.
Now more than ever we women (and you men too) need to have our own gig.
I want to be a person who can ride out any storm and a person who is ready to leap at opportunities. We just don't know what's going to happen in the long or the short term, in the US or globally but as President Obama said "The sun will still rise tomorrow".
